Today I attended the House of Commons to observe Defence Questions in the House and also had a meeting with the Secretary of State for Defence, Rt. Hon. Grant Shapps MP.
As a former reservist, I reminded the Secretary of the many veterans in Southampton that feel left behind and asked him if his department could do more for the armed forces veteran community of Southampton.
I also mentioned to the Secretary the Maritime Security Conference I would be hosting in Southampton. The Secretary said he would support the conference, diary permitting.
