I attended a talk today with Prof. Chris Whitty during which he outlined the key findings of his report related to healthy ageing. Director of Public Health for Hampshire County Council, Simon Bryant, outlined the Live Longer Better programme run by the Council. I have been volunteering at an almshouse for a few years and have been supporting retired army reservists for over 10 years. I fully support the key findings in the report, and will continue to fight for more support for the elder residents of Southampton Itchen. Whether that is better access to care or simply providing grants to heat their homes in the winter.
